# Credits

> Understand monthly credits, top-up credits, and low-credit behavior.

Miles uses credits for AI-powered work such as site generation, design iteration, image generation, page design, and theme conversion.

## Credit types

| Type             | Meaning                                                                    |
| ---------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Monthly credits  | Credits included with your plan each period                                |
| Top-up credits   | Extra credits bought by a paid-plan subscriber; they do not expire         |
| Referral credits | Extra monthly allowance earned through the referral program when available |

## When credits run low

Miles uses the monthly allowance first, then the top-up balance. If an operation stops because there are no credits left, add credits or change the plan before continuing. Inspect the site before retrying because some work may already have been saved.

## Use credits intentionally

* give Miles a clear brief before generating a site
* review the brief before approving it
* choose a design direction deliberately
* ask for targeted refinements
* keep existing-site edits scoped to the page or section you want changed
