# Iterating on design directions

> Choose the right visual path before the full build.

Design directions are the best time to steer the site. They let you react to the look and feel before Miles builds the complete homepage design.

Use this step to judge the direction, not tiny details. Copy, images, spacing, and individual sections can change later. The larger question is whether the site feels right for the audience and business.

## What to review

Look at:

* tone and audience fit
* hierarchy and clarity
* typography and density
* imagery direction
* calls to action
* whether the direction matches the business

## Give specific feedback

Good feedback sounds like:

```text theme={"dark"}
Direction 2 is closest.
Make it warmer, less corporate, and more focused on local trust.
```

```text theme={"dark"}
None of these feel right.
Try a more editorial direction with stronger photography
and less SaaS-style layout.
```

```text theme={"dark"}
Use the structure from Direction 1.
Use the color and type feeling from Direction 3.
```

## Do not settle too early

If the direction feels wrong, ask for another round. It is better to fix taste and positioning here than after the complete homepage is built.
