A good prompt tells Miles what success looks like. It does not need to specify every layout detail.

Include

  • who the site is for
  • what the business or project does
  • the main goal of the site
  • required pages, sections, or offers
  • facts that must be correct
  • tone, audience, and brand direction
  • reference URLs, screenshots, or files
  • anything that should stay as a draft
  • any functionality that still needs setup
  • things Miles should avoid

Avoid

  • approving a brief with guessed facts
  • asking for every detail to be final in the first pass
  • only describing colors and layout
  • treating placeholder functionality as real functionality
  • saying “make it like this site” without explaining what to keep or avoid

Example

After the prompt, use Miles’ questions and website brief to tighten the direction. If Miles guesses something important, correct it before approving the brief.
